Dell XPS 13 Review – A Nice Looking, Durable Ultrabook That Offers Great Performance

In today’s world of electronics, there are numerous laptops and ultrabooks. While most are your run of the mill PCs that don’t offer anything innovative, there are a few gems here and there. The Dell XPS 13 is one of those. This ultrabook exemplifies performance. Everything from its carbon fiber and aluminum construction to its performance levels is amazing.

One of the reasons why this netbook stands out is the way it is designed. Its construction is tough, yet smooth. The chassis is cut flawlessly from a single block of aluminum. The display features a special Gorilla Glass, which makes it durable. You won’t have to worry about getting scratches or smudges on this 13.3-inch display.

Speaking of which, the display has a resolution of 1920×1080. This alone makes the XPS 13 a superior choice, as most other ultrabooks only have a standard 1366×768 resolution. The 1920×1080 means that you will be able to view images with the most amazing colors and contrast you can imagine. Its 350-nit brightness is several times brighter than that of a typical laptop. It has a very wide viewing angle, so you and a friend or two can sit anywhere you want in front of it and everyone will be able to see the screen clearly.

The keyboard and touchpad have a soft-touch finish. The touchpad has integrated buttons that are easy to push. The keyboard has fairly large, concave keys, which allow the user’s fingers to rest comfortably. Since it’s backlit, you’ll be able to work in low lighting conditions.

Dell XPS 13’s Performance

Whether you want to get work done or simply wish to entertain yourself with the Dell XPS 13, you’ll get all the performance you’ll need with the 3rd Generation Intel Core processor. The default model is i5 with up to 2.6 GHz. It can be upgraded to an i7 model if you need even more power. As for the memory, it’s up to you whether you want 4 GB or 8 GB DDR3 SDRAM.

This notebook comes with a solid state drive. The default choice is 128 GB. If you think you will be saving a lot of multimedia files, however, you might want to go with the 256 GB model.

The ultrabook comes with USB 3.0 ports and a mini Display Port for connectivity. You can sync important files, documents, and photos back and forth between it and other computers and devices.

With the Dell XPS 13, you will be able to accomplish just about anything: work, schoolwork, research, entertainment, etc. It’s a great looking ultrabook with a durable build and expandability.
