HP ENVY 17t-j100 Select Edition Review of a Fine, Advanced Notebook and Everything it Offers

The notebook industry has evolved a lot over the years. They used to come with less power than a desktop. It would cost a lot of money to buy a notebook that came equipped with components similar to those of a desktop. This has all changed, however, thanks to innovation from brands like HP. A good example of how much performance a notebook can offer is the HP ENVY 17t-j100 Select Edition. It comes with the new Windows 8.1 OS, a 4th generation processor, plenty of hard drive space, and more.

This is a nice looking laptop, with a stylish metal design and full-size keyboard. With its 17.3-inch display, it can be set up and used on a desk just like a desktop. Its Wireless LAN and Bluetooth (optional) allow for it to be connected to any home or business networks. When plugged in, it’s powered by a 90 W AC adapter. When it’s mobile, the battery charge can last for up to 9 hours.

There are two displays available, from which consumers can choose: a full HD and a HD+ BrightView. Both of these are 17.3-inches and feature LED-backlit technology. The HD+ is the default selection. It still delivers stunning colors and detail on its own with a 1600×900 resolution.

The hard drive choices come in different forms: standard, hybrid, and dual. The cheapest option is a 750 GB hard drive, which can be upgraded to 1 TB standard drive, hybrid drive, or both. There are also options for a 1.5 TB or 2 TBG dual drive.

Another 17t-j100 SE pro is that it comes with support for a Blu-Ray writer or player. The drive it comes with is a SuperMulti DVD, but a Blu-Ray player/writer can be added on as well. This is a great option for users who want to use the notebook for entertainment.

Weight of the HP ENVY 17t-j100 Select Edition

While it’s not designed for ultra-portability, it can still be carried around in a laptop bag. It weighs about 6.1 lbs. The long battery life also adds to its portability. There is enough room for a second 6-cell Li-ion battery for those who think they will need it.

With a 4th generation processor, combined with NVIDIA graphics, this new ENVY laptop can run most programs, including those with 3D content. The base option is an i5 processor from Intel Core, and consumers can upgrade to an i7 model. The NVIDIA graphics are optional, but ideal.

When it comes down to it, nobody can ask for more where notebooks are concerned; the HP ENVY 17t-j100 Select Edition offers it all: performance, speed, user-friendliness, and upgrade options. It has a good, durable construction that allows for it to have a long lifespan.

Perhaps the best thing about today’s notebooks is that they don’t cost a lot of money. You really can get an HP notebook like this at a lower price than a desktop. Thanks to HP ENVY 17t-j100 Select Edition discounts – which can only be found online – you can get it at a price you can afford.
