HP ENVY x360 15z

HP ENVY x360 15z Review – Why You Will Want to Enjoy This 15.6-Inch Notebook

You really can’t get much better than an AMD Ryzen processor in a notebook. This revolutionary new architecture delivers performance and multi-threaded processing for just about any task. Another great thing about the HP ENVY x360 15z is that it has four modes. You can use it in any way that is convenient for you: as a tablet, as a laptop, a tent, or a stand. It also works well with Windows Ink, giving you more ways to interact with the device.

It has a very nice 15.6-inch FHD display (1920 x 1080) with a maximum brightness of 207-nits. The overall dimensions in inches are 14.16 x 0.77 x 9.8 (W x H x D). It weighs 4.75-lbs. Expect some excellent viewing angles, whether you are indoors out outside. In addition to the nice display, this device comes with a full-size back-lit island-style keyboard with a numeric keypad.

System performance is responsive and smooth. It’s clear that the HP ENVY x360 15z is a result of a lot of testing and that it offers optimal performance. The Ryzen processor has four physical cores that run at a base frequency of 2.0-GHz. With turbo boost technology, the clock speed can go up to 3.6-GHz. The GPU is great as well. The Radeon Vega 8 graphics supports DirectX 12 and runs at a maximum clock speed of 1100-MHz. Most games run smoothly on this ENVY, although some of the more graphics-intense ones might have to be played at medium or even low settings. Keep in mind that this isn’t being marketed as a gaming laptop, even though you can play a lot of games on it.

What Does the HP ENVY x360 15z Include?

The base price includes 8GB of memory (DDR 2400 SDRAM), which comes as 2 x 4GB. If that isn’t enough, the HP ENVY x360 15z can be customized with 12GB or even 16GB (2 x 8GB). The cheapest option for the hard drive is a 1TB SATA (7200 RPM), and there is room for an M.2 SSD.

There is little to no system noise to be concerned about. When Idle, the fans are still and completely silent. Only when the GPU and CPU are both heavily throttled will there be a bit of noise, but no more than any other notebook under similar conditions. The primary battery is a three-cell Li-ion prismatic battery (55.8-Wh) that can last around 11 hours with regular usage and 9 hours for video playback.

Additional features of the HP ENVY x360 15z include two USB 3.1 generation 1 ports, 1 USB 3.1 port (type-C), 1 HDMI, Wide Vision IR camera (FHD), dual array digital microphone, wireless technology and Bluetooth 4.2 combo, dual speakers, and a multi-format SD card reader.
