Dell Latitude 3400: Review of a Reliable, Affordable Office Laptop with 14-Inch Display and 8th Gen. Processors

A successor to the Vostro 3460, this new Dell laptop is a budget machine ideal for office use. It comes in a nice aluminum body and features “legacy ports”, up to 8GB of memory, a 14-inch display, SSD PCie NVMe Class 35 drive options, and 8th gen. Intel Core processors. Those familiar with the previous iterations of these business notebooks will notice that the Dell Latitude 3400 sports a much thinner bezel, and a new sort of “wedge shape” that makes it even more compact.

The case is very durable and it takes a lot of strength to twist it. The hinges are designed in a way that allows the user to open the notebook with just one hand without lifting the base. The touchpad is pretty large and features two buttons. As for the OS, there are options for Windows 7 Pro, Windows 7 Home, and windows 8, although Windows 10 is now available and preferred by many users.

Work seamlessly from anywhere thanks to the long battery life and legacy ports, such as USB 3.1 / USB Type-C, HDMI, and even a VGA. The new 3400 is the only Dell Latitude that comes with a VGA connector so that you don’t need an adapter to connect with VGA-devices. Additional ports and slots include USB 2.0, SD memory card reader, universal audio jack, and 4.5-mm adapter. There is also an option to have a touch fingerprint reader integrated in the power button.
