Acer Swift 1 SF114-32-C225 Review: A Nice, Affordable and Portable Notebook for Versatile Use

This 14-inch ultra-thin notebook by Acer allows you to work all day, thanks to its quad-core processor, long battery life, and portability. It’s also very affordable and offers a lot of value for the ultra-thin laptop market. Just by taking a quick glance at the Acer Swift 1 SF114-32-C225, one can tell that it is an elegant device, with its sleek metal case and illuminated chiclet keyboard with flat keys.

The multi-touch capable clickpad works efficiently. It covers an area of approximately 4.2 x 3.1 inches and offers sufficient space for finger gestures. The system, overall, runs smoothly without any delays. You won’t be able to use it for activities that require a lot of graphics performance, but you can still use it for typical streaming and web surfing. Some people also choose to use it for office work.

The Intel UHD graphics (600) offers good performance for a notebook of this price range. Some built-in features include a fingerprint reader for security, microphone, and two stereo speakers. The GPU does include support for current display outputs like DisplayPort 1.2a, HDCP 2.2, and HDMI 2.0a. For such an affordable notebook, the Acer Swift 1 SF114-32-C225 has some pretty good speakers. The display is a 14-inch LCD screen with IPS / ComfyView technology, Full HD / LED and a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

As for the memory, there is 4GB of standard DDR4 SDRAM as well as a memory card reader with SD support. There is also flash memory with a 64GB capacity. Connect to wireless networks via the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac wireless LAN technology. As mentioned above, there is HDMI. Additionally, there are USB 2.0, 3.0 and 3.1 Gen. 1, and USB Type-C ports.

The battery life is pretty impressive. The 3-cell Li-Ion unit has a capacity of 4670-mAh, and the power supply wattage maximum is 45-W.

Overall, this is a very nice and thin machine with an approximate weight of 2.87-lbs. If you’re just after an affordable, portable notebook for everyday tasks, then the Acer Swift 1 SF114-32-C225 is definitely a good choice.
