Acer Predator Orion 3000 PO3-600-UR20 Review: A Must-Have Visually Appealing, VR-Ready Desktop for Gamers

This “juggernaut” of a desktop is designed for an unrestrained, awe-inspiring gaming experience. With its 8th Gen. Intel Core processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX (1060) dedicated graphics, it’s an unstoppable force. Even the audio is excellent. The SoundBlasterX 720 audio engine enhances and empowers what the users of the Acer Predator Orion 3000 PO3-600-UR20 hear when they play their favorite games and enjoy multimedia.

Its design really stands out, with its iconic “Predator” series chassis, hard angles, and LED-lit teal accents. The two meshes on the front part and left side of the case work as intakes to help keep the system stay cool and un-throttled. There is even an extra SATA3 connection so that you can add an additional optical drive or Blu-Ray if you want.

This is a VR-ready desktop with some very good specifications. The DDR4 2666 MHz system memory can be upgraded to 64GB. While it’s large enough to hold plenty of hardware, the Orion 3000 model is still smaller than the 5000 and 9000 models and takes up less room on the table. It measures13.4-inches in height, 6.40-inches in width, and 13.8-inches in depth.

The GPU really drives the game. Whether you just want to play, edit, or actually stream live, the NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics will be able to handle it all. It can even handle VR, and the desktop tower can be connected to an UHD 4K display. There are a few different models and configurations available. Even with the base, least expensive option, the Acer Predator Orion 3000 PO3-600-UR20 still comes with an Intel Core i7 hexa-core processor (8700) at 3.20-GHz and the ability to utilize 12-threads and a range of advanced technologies to ensure that all of your CPU-intensive dreams come true.

The cheapest configuration comes with a 256GB SSD for the storage solution. Pricier models include a 1TB – 2TB HDD as well. There is room for even more storage, as well as a DVD / Blu-Ray drive.

It’s not surprising that there are interfaces and ports galore with this gaming desktop: HDMI, DVI, 4 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.1 Gen. 1, 1 USB 3.1 Gen. 2, RJ-45, USB-Type C, DisplayPort outputs, and more. Hook the machine up to multiple displays simultaneously. The OS is Windows 10 Home (64-bit). Get a maximum of 500-W with the power supply wattage.
