Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Review: A New ThinkPad / IdeaPad Hybrid with Very Durable Design and SSD Storage

If you want a combination of Lenovo’s ThinkPad and IdeaPad series, that’s what you’ll get with the new Lenovo ThinkBook 14s. It introduces this new model, which is marketed for business users, although it comes with plenty to keep mainstream consumers happy as well. It sports a chassis design, which is arguably sleeker than what would normally come with the ThinkPads. This brand has been pretty consistent with its series over the years, so when it introduces a new concept, such as the ThinkBook, it’s definitely worth looking into.

A few highlights of the 14s model include its narrow bezel 14-inch display, Dolby Audio technology with Harman speakers, integrated fingerprint reader (power button), and solid state drive. Those who need to make business calls will appreciate the hot keys for Skype. In short, it’s packed with features that make it faster and easier to focus on your business as well as any personal activities you want to use a notebook for.

Built-in security features keep the Lenovo ThinkBook 14s protected from hackers. There is a dTPM that encrypts data and works with Windows 10 security and privacy features. There is an actual physical camera cover that blocks the lens, which is a feature we’re starting to see more and more of as people want to be absolutely certain that they are not seen unless they want to be.

Lenovo ThinkBook 14s Display

The FHD display allows a wide-angle viewing experience as the hinges open 180-degrees. It is very easy to share and collaborate with others. It is built to last longer than many other notebooks on the market due to anti-spill protection (up to 60-cc of water), vibrations, extreme temperatures, and so forth. The hinges are also made of zinc-alloy and powdered-metal in order to endure opening and closing cycles up to 25,000 times. There is indium coating to increase resistance to corrosion.
