Acer Nitro 7 AN715-51-70TG Review: A Budget Gaming Laptop with Excellent Display, Minimalist Build, and 6-Core Processor

Acer describes this new laptop as being a “mobile battle station”. It weighs just under 5.51 lbs (2.5-kg) and has a pleasing 15.6-inch display. The chassis is solid black and has a red vent and keyboard backlight. The lid is made of brushed metal and is etched with the Acer logo. It’s a simple, nice design. The keyboard is well-designed too on the Acer Nitro 7 AN715-51-70TG, and it’s more than just a typical chiclet slab. There is the perfect amount of travel to each keystroke and a tactile click.

The FHD IPS display delivers smooth, blur-free gameplay or video-viewing with its 144-Hz refresh rate (certain models) and a 3ms response time (overdrive). It’s clear that the display is one of the areas in which Acer put some prioritization. The resolution is 1920 x 1080 and the screen has LED backlight technology.

Acer CoolBoost technology, combined with the dual exhaust port design, help to bring down the heat whenever you are playing graphics-intense games. The CoolBoost technology is designed to increase fan speed by as much as 10% and the CPU / GPU cooling by 9% compared to what it is in auto mode. Also, with the NitroSense hot key, users are able to monitor and manage their system in real time.

For the audio, there are two stereo speakers. Also built-in to the front of the Acer Nitro 7 AN715-51-70TG is a webcam with 1280 x 720 resolution and microphone for video conferencing or just talking with friends. In addition to the backlit keyboard, there is a nice touchpad as well.
