Lenovo Yoga C740 Guide: An Overview of the 14-Inch and 15-Inch Models of This 2-in-1 Laptop / Tablet Convertible

Lenovo has really been expanding its Yoga tablet / laptop products over the past few years. This C740 is available as a 14-inch or 15-inch model. Both models come with aluminum styling and attractive 1080p touchscreen. As for the price, the Lenovo Yoga C740 falls between the $700 range.

There is an interesting design with the chassis on the 15-inch model, such as a vertical Lenovo logo on the palm rests and a touchpad that is located towards the left. There is no chromed border around the touchpad, giving the Yoga design a cleaner overall look.

The 14-inch model is available in a sandblasted silver-gray aluminum finish (mica), which makes it look very nice. There is just a tiny bit of flex if you grasp it by the screen corners, but the screen barely wobbles at all when tapped in laptop mode.

For a convertible design, Lenovo has done an excellent job of creating durable 360-degree hinges that prevent teetering. However, the lid cannot be opened with just one hand. The touchpad has a glass surface that gives it a premium feel and gliding properties. It’s about as perfect as a mouse replacement as a touchpad can get.

Lenovo Yoga C740 Pre-Built Configuration

You can order either model with a pre-built configuration or take advantage of the “build your own” option. Regardless of which version you choose, the Lenovo Yoga C740 is available with 10th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors with Turbo Boost and 6 MB cache – 8 MB cache respectively. The i7 processor has 4-cores. The memory is available with (soldered) 8GB or 16GB DDR4 2666-MHz, which is a good amount for a 2-in-1 notebook.

Wireless connectivity includes either 802.11 AC (2×2) or 9560 802.11 AC (2×2) and Bluetooth 5.0 technology. The Lenovo Yoga C740 has an SSD PCIe drive with varying capacity, ranging from 256GB to 1TB.

The 14-inch model has a 14-inch FHD IPS anti-glare touchscreen (1920 x 1080) and has 300-nits. The 15-inch model has a 15.6-inch FHD IPS touchscreen with either anti-glare (250-nits) technology or glossy (500-nits) technology. All configurations feature integrated Intel UHD graphics. To match those vibrant visuals, there is a user-facing Dolby Atmos speaker setup with superior sound.

Stay safe when logging in and using this Yoga, thanks to the fingerprint login and the TrueBlock Privacy Shutter, which allows you to cover up the webcam whenever you want the peace of mind that you are truly in a private session.

Included with the Lenovo Yoga C740 is a 65-W AC adapter and 3-cell 60-Wh internal battery (15-inch) / 4-cell 51-Wh battery (14-inch) that can last for up to 13 hours.
