Lenovo ThinkBook 14 Review: A New 14-inch Portable Notebook Ideal for Everyday Business Use

Here is the brand new 14-inch version of Lenovo’s line of laptops that come with all business and office essentials. It supports a wide range of full-size I/O ports and user data encryption. Since it is powered by Generation 10 Intel Core i5 / i7 processors, business users can expect good performance with the Lenovo ThinkBook 14.

It’s actually advertised as being designed “for professionals on the go” as it easily slips into any briefcase, backpack, or even under the user’s arm. As for size, this ThinkBook is only weighs 3.3-lbs and is 0.7-inch thin. The case material is aluminum and the color is a nice “Mineral Gray”. It’s a classy looking notebook that is neither flashy nor boring.

Another design feature that stands out is the narrow bezels edging around the display, making the screen-to-body ratio 80%. The (optional) discrete graphics deliver high-resolution visuals for videos, photos, work, and more. Users can expect exceptional sound coming out of this ThinkBook thanks to the two Dolby Audio speakers.

Video calls are a snap with this machine and its dual-array Skype-certified microphones and integrated speakers. Hot keys can be used for answering or hanging up when on Skype.

There is plenty of connectivity which includes all types of USB 3.1 (Gen 1 USB-C / Gen 1 Type-A – always on / Gen 1 USB-C + Power Delivery + DisplayPort), USB 2.0 Type-A, 4-in-1 card reader (SD / SDHC / SDXC / MMC), headphone / microphone combo, HDMI, and RJ-45.

The keyboard is full-sized and features backlight technology. As mentioned above, there are hot-keys for Skype Business. Also included is a one-piece touchpad.

Additional features of the Lenovo ThinkBook 14 include a ThinkShutter camera cover, 65-W AC adapter, TPM 2.0 firmware, smart power button / fingerprint reader, and Active Protection System for security (APS). It really comes with everything a typical business user needs.
