This new AMD-Ryzen based laptop is a step above the entry-level Inspiron models offered by Dell. It’s surprisingly affordable considering the AMD-Ryzen processor and Vega 8 graphics. A cheaper configuration is available with an AMD A6 (7th gen) processor and R4 graphics. One of the first things you’ll notice with the Dell Inspiron 15 3595 is its thinness, measuring just 0.89-inches in height, 14.96-inches in width, and 10.16-inches in depth. It also weighs approximately 4.82-lbs or 2.18-kg.
The overall look is minimalist and clean – especially the keyboard, which is uncluttered and slightly recessed. The keys themselves are spaced at around 3-mm. There is a numerical pad to the right, and the touchpad is located underneath, slightly towards left. Dell really went a long way in testing to ensure that the keys and hinges are durable. Even the power button was tested for 40,000 presses.
What can this machine be used for? While the Ryzen processor and integrated Vega graphics probably aren’t enough for gaming, it can still perform very well in office, research, and most web applications. The configuration with the Vega 8 can handle more performance and multi-tasking.
As for the display, the 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) LED-backlit option is obviously better than the cheaper, standard (1366 x 768) option, which comes with the cheapest configuration. There is a decent amount of memory available with the Dell Inspiron 15 3595: up to 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4 / 2666-MHz. The more memory you can afford, the better – when it comes to laptops.

One area where it really stands out is its M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD from Toshiba, which isn’t common for a laptop at such a low price range. Choose a configuration of 128GB or 256GB. If you want more storage space, you’ll have to settle for the much slower 500GB 5400-RPM SATA.

The Dell Inspiron 15 3595 is Energy Star 7.1 certified. Overall, it’s a good, mid-range laptop that’s really worth the price – especially if you opt for one of the superior configurations.
