Dell G5 15 5500

Dell G5 15 5500 Overview: New, Attractive 15-inch Laptop for Entertainment, Gaming, & Any Other Use

The G5 gaming notebooks by Dell have new designs. The designs make those laptops appear sleeker and thinner. They do so even when holding powerful hardware like 10th Generation Lake processors. There is optional (yet must-have) chassis lighting that looks attractive. It’s easy to pick the ideal configuration with the specs you need for the Dell G5 15 5500 to play your favorite games on the website.

This laptop has a mid to higher-range and price depending on which version you pick. It has a 15.6-inch display, starting weight of 5.18-lbs, fingerprint recognition technology, and an integrated webcam. The design includes hinges mounted right in the center of the base. Despite their tightness, you can still open the lid with one hand. There is good key travel and “clicky” feedback when typing and the backlight to add to the appearance. You can press a dedicated “G” key to launch the Game Center.

The cheapest configuration has a refresh rate of 60-Hz. Superior configurations have displays with a 144-Hz refresh rate. They are all non-touch screens in FHD with 300-nits, wide-viewing angles, and anti-glare LED (1920 x 1080).

Dell G5 15 5500 Cooling System

The dual-fan cooling system keeps the Dell G5 15 5500 cool and responsive. Components like the Intel Core processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX or RTX graphics run cool, so the laptop never overheats. Use the Game Shift technology to ensure improved performance when playing high-demand games. At the very least, you can select a GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card (4GB GDDR6). The best option is an RTX 2070 (8GB) with Max-Q design.

10th Gen. Intel Core processors power these 1550 models, either i5 or i7, from 4-cores to 6-cores. Expect up to 4.5-GHz with the i5 processors and 5.0-GHz with the i7 processors. You can get more “juice” by pressing the Game Shift / Turbo Boost button. With any of these processors and graphics cards, you should be able to run popular games. Once again, Dell makes it easy to figure out what kinds of specs you need.

The Dell G5 15 5500 also comes with Solid State Drives (M.2 PCIe NVMe) to add to the performance and speed. You can choose between 256GB and 512GB storage capacities. For memory, choose between 8GB (2 x 4GB) and 16GB (2 x 8GB).

Regardless of where or when you want to play your games or do anything else, you’ll get fast, smooth network traffic with the Killer Gigabit Ethernet. Quickly charge the system itself anytime with either a 51-Whr or 68-Whr battery. We should also mention the SmartByte technology in this Dell G5 15 5500 review. This technology does an excellent job of prioritizing visual content for efficient streaming.
