Lenovo ThinkStation P340 Tiny

Lenovo ThinkStation P340 Tiny Review: So Much Adaptability, Potential Power, and Performance with This Tiny “Desktop” Workstation

People want more desk rooms these days and don’t want to deal with bulky PC towers. Imagine having a “desktop” tower that is only 1-liter and can easily be mounted on a wall or placed under a desk. What’s more, the Lenovo ThinkStation P340 Tiny is adaptable enough to be connected to 6 independent displays. This workstation works well with intensive apps with ISV certifications (AutoDesk, PTC, Bentley, etc.)

Another good thing about the P340 Tiny’s design is that it doesn’t have to sit vertically like a traditional tower. It can easily be placed or mounted horizontally – whatever is more convenient for you. However, you might need a separate VESA mounting bracket if you want to position it in certain places.

Don’t think that because it’s tiny that you can easily break it. This stylish device looks excellent and very durable. It has been through 18 MIL-STD 810G tests and can withstand harsh conditions, allowing you to employ it just about anywhere. What about the specs? There are several configurations available with different sets of specs.

For the processor, the Lenovo ThinkStation P340 Tiny starts with a 10th Gen. Intel Core i3 (4-cores / 8MB cache / 8 threads) 3.00-GHz base speed up to 3.90-GHz Turbo Boost. For a more powerful processor, go up to a 10th Gen. Intel Core i9 (10900T) processor w/ vPro / 10-cores / to a maximum of 3.90.-GHz with Turbo Boost. You can equip the graphics with NVIDIA Quadro Pro (dedicated graphics) – either P620 2GB or P1000 4GB with higher-priced models.

Lenovo ThinkStation P340 Tiny Operating System and SSD

Different operating systems are supported, including Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Pro (recommended for business use), and Linux Ubuntu 20.04. There is enough room for a maximum of 64GB of memory in this tiny “tower” workstation (DDR4 – 2933 MHz) and room for 2 x M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drives (2TB each). For a less-pricey configuration, you might get a 256GB PCIe SSD Opal.

Whether you want to use it in the home or at work, the Lenovo ThinkStation P340 Tiny must have wireless internet capabilities. With the cheapest model, there is an integrated Ethernet. Most models, however, include Intel Wi-Fi 6 (AX201) 802.11 AX (2×2) and Bluetooth 5.0 / vPro technology.

Additional features include either a 170-W or 230-W (both 89% efficient) AC Adapter, numerous USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C slots, as well as 3.2 Gen 1 slots, HDMI, 4 x Mini-DisplayPort, and built-in security. Trust that Lenovo will keep all of your information secure with the Lenovo ThinkStation P340 Tiny, thanks to a Kensington lock slot to secure the bottom and a TPM 2.0 feature.
