I have exactly the same problem! In most lighting situations you cannot see the characters on the keys. I have spoken to Dell support several times and there is no fix. I got a Dell wireless keyboard which solves the problem when I’m working at my desk. I did a lot of research before buying this laptop but never thought to research if you can see the characters on the keyboard. I like the laptop, but would not have bought it had I’d known about this issue. It’s a major failing on Dell’s part.
This is not just a dell problem. My MS studio laptop with white keys has the same problem. The easy fix is to turn off the keyboard backlight when there is ample light in the room. You only need the backlight in low light. It know it’s not ideal, but you will be able to see the keys during the day when the backlight is off. Again, not exclusive to Dell. If I can, I try to get a black keyboard so the backlight is a contrasting color. Best of luck.
My camer doesn’t work which is beyond disappointing. Cant seem to find drivers online to solve the problem.
I am experiencing the same keyboard problem. How could such a big computer company like Dell failed to resolve this issue since 2015? I called Dell’s technical support team and they acted as if they’ve never heard of 7706 17″ 2in1 owners having problems with the keyboard.
