I bought the 12th gen core i5 model with 8Gb ram and 256 SSD. It’s just a basic all-around laptop with good performance and an acceptable mix of ports and features. The chassis is of course mostly plastic and not feeling the durability with it. I have noticed some creaking when I pick it up. The B&O audio doesn’t fix the fact the speakers are on bottom corners. It sounds typical of many laptops which means it’s not that loud. I got the Matte screen which is fine but probably not bright enough for outdoors. Touchpad is plenty big, and keyboard is acceptable.
Battery life won’t get you much beyond a half a day of mixed use. Fan seems to have only one speed and is either on or off. I purchased at a significant discount off retail price which I considered a good deal. I wouldn’t pay what HP considers normal retail because quality isn’t there.
