HP Pavilion p0085z

HP Pavilion p0085z Overview: Looking for a New, Versatile Desktop? This One Has a Lot to Offer

This is an affordable desktop that can do everything the average user needs for staying entertained. It can also be used for schoolwork and office tasks. There is enough room to grow as well if you want to add more later on. The case is easy to work on and the interior access is good. The HP Pavilion p0085z is a fast machine and comes with plenty of storage.

Some configurations come equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 processor and AMD Radeon RX 550 discrete graphics (2GB GDDR5 dedicated). With AMD processor and Radeon graphics, you can play a lot of games – especially where there is a burst frequency up to 3.9-GHz / 16MB cache / 8-cores and 2GB of dedicated video card memory. You might not be able to play certain games on high settings but this Pavilion does pretty well with this configuration. There is a cheaper configuration with integrated graphics (AMD Radeon Vega 6).

The motherboard is HP’s Sunflower unit with a form factor measuring 9.6 x 10.5-inches. Expansion slots include two M.2, one PCIe x16, and one PCie x1. The network interface with this desktop is integrated (10/100/1000) GbE LAN. There is wireless technology and Bluetooth 4.2 M.2 combo as well.

Storage Capacity of the HP Pavilion p0085z

Save up to 1TB of data on the SATA drive (7200-RPM), which is the primary storage. There is room for an SSD for the secondary storage drive, with a 256GB capacity. The HP Pavilion p0085z also comes with an optical drive for writing / playing DVDs and CDs, which is packed in tightly to the 11.35-lb (6.69-in x 10.9-in x 13.3-in / W x D x H) chassis. Connect the desktop to a display with the DIsplayPort or HDMI via the video connector.

The chassis is attractive with its sleek profile, geometric pattern, brushed texture and silvery metallic finish. It’s a lot better looking than the standard black towers that everybody is used to. The setup is very simple, even for those who don’t know much about computers at all. It already comes installed and ready to go with Windows 10 Home (64) as the OS. If you want better graphics performance, there is enough room in the chassis for a standard 1060.

The base configuration comes with 2 x 8GB of SDRAM for a total of 16GB. This is upgradeable to 32GB, although 16GB is more than enough for most users.

Whatever reason you have for shopping around for a new desktop, you really can’t go wrong with the HP Pavilion p0085z.
