HP Elite Dragonfly Guide: A Quick Rundown of This x360 Professional Touch Laptop & Its Next-Generation Technology

This is an ultra-light, attractive x360 touch laptop with striking features such as oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprints and grease, ultra-bright display, “dragonfly blue finish”, etc. The keyboard on the HP Elite Dragonfly is quiet and comfortable to type on. There are a few different configuration options, which makes it easy for you to order a laptop with the specs and features that you want.

Thanks to next-generation wireless technology, which supports gigabit speeds via Wi-Fi 6 (802.11 ax), you can expect a fast and reliable connection. Work anywhere you want: at home, the office, on a train, coffee shop, etc. You can also use the Dragonfly for entertainment and basic web stuff like social media and email. Enjoy crisp, clear audio with your favorite entertainment or when collaborating in any environment via 4-Premium stereo speakers and Bang & Olufsen technology. There is also a multi-array world-facing microphone.

There are numerous storage options, with a 256 PCie NVMe Solid State Drive as the standard, default choice. You can instead opt for 512GB with 16GB or 32GB Intel Optane memory (H10), or 512GB M.2 SATA FIPS drive 140-2 SSD TLC. The HP Elite Dragonfly supports up to 16GB onboard / soldered memory (dual channel), which is pretty impressive for a thin notebook.

For an idea of its size, this machine starts at just 2.2-lbs and measures 11.98-inches in width, 7.78 in depth, and 0.63-inches in height. It’s Energy Star Certified and comes with sensors such as a Magnetometer, Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Hall sensor, and Ambient Light sensor.

There is an 8th generation Intel Core i5 processor (8265U) with a 1.6-GHz base frequency, combined with Intel UHD graphics (620), and capable of achieving 3.9-GHz with Intel Turbo boost technology. It’s a quad-core processor with 6MB cache. These Intel UHD graphics support HDMI 1.4b, DX12, and HD Decode.

Another nice thing about the HP Elite Dragonfly is that it comes with a 13.3-inch diagonal FHD IPS display with Brightview WLED-backlit touchscreen, 1920 x 1080 resolution, and 400-nits. There is a 720p HD cam + IR cam. The HP premium collaboration keyboard is backlit, features DuraKeys, and is spill-resistant.

As mentioned above, there is HDMI support. Other external I/O ports include 2 USB Type-C connector / power delivery 3.0 (thunderbolt), 1 USB 3.1 Generation 1 for charging, 1 external Nano SIM slot, and headphone / mic combo. The battery is internal and not replaceable. It’s an HP Long Life four-cell Li-Ion unit with 56-Wh.
