Lenovo ThinkPad A285

Lenovo ThinkPad A285 Overview: Why This is A Good, Reliable Notebook for Professionals and Small Businesses

This ThinkPad can essentially be described as a “business notebook with AMD power”. Its new design allows for it to accommodate an AMD system. 4G LTE-A technology is also an option if you want a notebook that will help you stay connected to the internet regardless of any Wi-Fi issues. With it neat black finish with a few red implements, the Lenovo ThinkPad A285 looks a lot nicer than many of the boring gray business notebooks out on the market.

Since this is a business / professional notebook, users can expect superior protection such as a discrete Trusted Platform Module, built-in HD cam with ThinkShutter protection, Windows Hello, biometric sensors, and so forth. Also, the AMD Ryzen Pro APU is very significant for IT administrators, or anyone whose job involves the manageability of devices, and wants to stay as secure and up-to-date as possible.

Lenovo has been putting out ThinkPads for a long time, so the brand can be counted on for making devices that fit in the business environment. Of course, you can simply use the Lenovo ThinkPad A285 individually for yourself and be the only user.

Lenovo ThinkPad A285 Connectivity

There is a decent amount of connectivity with this small device, including two USB 3.1 Generation Type-C ports for Power Delivery / DisplayPort / data transfer, 1 USB 3.1 generation 1 port (always-on), 1 USB 3.1 Generation 2, HDMI 2.0, native RJ45 (dongle sold separately), microphone / headphone combo jack, and microSD card reader. Order the laptop with an AMD Ryzen 5 Pro processor with a base frequency of 2.0-GHz and the ability to go up to 3.60-GHz with turbo boost (4MB cache). The display is a 12.5-inch FHD IPS touchscreen with anti-glare technology and 1920 x 1080 resolution (300-nits). Everything on the Lenovo ThinkPad A285’s screen is displayed in vibrant colors and crystal clear text.

AMD Radeon Vega 8 graphics also help bring the visuals to life on the display, whether you want to review creative designs, edit some photos, or simply watch videos.

For storage, there is a PCIe Solid State Drive for speed, with a capacity of 256GB. There is a decent amount of memory with the 8GB (soldered) DDR4 2400-MHz RAM. The OS is Windows 10 Pro, which offers some better security features than the Home version.

Some more things the Lenovo ThinkPad A285 comes with include AMDGuardMI technology, AES 128-bit encryption, mechanical docking, and more. With the ThinkPad Pro Dock (sold separately), the notebook stays securely in place at a tilted angle to provide an ergonomic, comfortable user experience.
