Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Review: A Look at the 15.6-inch Laptop Intel Model, AMD Model, and All Options & Features

The E-series of ThinkPad laptops is intended for both personal use and office use. So whether you want an excellent laptop for general use or work (or a combination of both), the Lenovo ThinkPad E15 is a good choice. There are a few different models for it, like Generation 1, Generation 2, and Generation 2 AMD.

There is a few hundred dollar price difference between the original and Generation 2. Still, the latter comes with some beneficial upgrades, such as an 11th Generation Intel Core Processor or AMD Ryzen 5 or 7. So even with the 1st Gen. version, you’ll still end up with a quality laptop capable of good performance.

Even though it has a bigger display than the E14, the E15 still has a thinner chassis and lighter. The latter is also encased in sleek, sturdy aluminum, available in black or silver, and with a starting weight of 4.3-lbs or 1.9-kg. Moreover, the keyboard is full-sized with a number pad, and the trackpad has three clickable buttons. In addition, there is an option for a touchscreen with the Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Generation 2 model.

The original E15 model, 10th Gen. Intel Core 13, i5, or i7 processor, is equipped, depending on the specific configurations. For example, the i3 processor has 2-cores, and the i5 and i7 have 4-cores. All processor options include Turbo Boost, with speeds ranging from up to 4.10-GHz to 4.90-GHz.

Lenovo ThinkPad E15 Processor and Storage

As mentioned above, the 2nd generation models have either 11th Gen. Intel Core i7 processors or AMD Ryzen 5 / Ryzen 7 processors. You can expect the amount of memory is up to 16GB or 32GB (DDR4 – 3200MHz). In addition, the AMD model can come with up to a 1.5TB PCIe Solid Storage Drive. With the Intel models, there are up to 512B PCIe SSD storage or 1TB.

Cheaper configurations of the Lenovo ThinkPad E15 might be available with a 1TB HDD 5400-RPM or 500GB HDD 7200-RPM storage drive. In addition, with some configurations, dual-drive storage is possible for those who require a higher amount of capacity overall.

There are integrated graphics with the E15 series, including Intel UHD or Iris Xe, and integrated AMD Radeon. The battery life for all of these models is above average. Business users will be glad to know the number of security features, including a ThinkShutter webcam cover, Kensington lock slot, discrete TPM 2.0, Smart Power On (with integrated fingerprint reader), and so forth.

Whether you’re on a budget, can only afford the base model, or want to invest in a 2nd generation model, there are Lenovo ThinkPad E15 coupons and promo codes online. So you won’t have to spend a fortune to get a quality laptop.
