The Alienware x15 R2 is a 15-inches ultra-thin gaming laptop that comes in color variations of Lunar Silver. Since its predecessors, the gaming laptop maintains Dell’s ultra-thin gaming PC design philosophy with additional internal and external upgrades. At 4.01 lbs (2.36 kg), it sports a standard weight in its performance range. Combined with the magnesium-alloy construction build, the laptop is a highly durable piece of machinery.
Like other newer Dell laptops, this gaming laptop comes equipped with a Dolby Vision-verified display and Dotmos Atmos-certified audio. In addition, it offers three different 15.6- inch display configurations – a Full HD G-Sync 165 Hz refresh, a Full HD G-Sync 360 Hz refresh, and a QHD G-Sync refresh – all featuring Advanced Optimus support and Dolby Vision Certified.

The Alienware x15 R2 display configurations are powered by ultra-elite NVIDIA graphics card with triple configurations of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 6 GB card, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8 GB card, and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 16 GB card, to deliver uninterrupted and smooth ultra high-resolution gaming and multimedia entertainment experience for extended uptime.
The Alienware x15 R2 sports an upgraded 12th generation Intel Alder Lake H mobile processor, featuring Core i7 – 2200H and Core i9 12900H. Both are powered by 24 cores and 29 threads with turbo boost able processing speeds of up to 4.70 GHz and 5.0 GHz.
Users can configure the x15 R2 with the 16GB LPDDR5, 5200 MHz RAM, or the 32GB LPDDR5, 5200 MHz RAM, both dual integrated channels supported. However, it is essential to note that the RAM is not upgradeable. Therefore users should ensure they plan their configurations before purchase. The laptop’s storage options also come in dual configurations of single and double PCle NVMe storage of up to 2 TB single SSD or 4 TB RAID O dual SSD for better flexibility and stable performance.
Alienware x15 R2 Connectivity
When it comes to connectivity, the Alienware x14 offers a comprehensively wide array of wired and wireless connections. The PC has removed most of the side connection ports for wired connections to favor convenience and optimal performance with a multi-purpose thunderbolt Type -C port that sports multiple supports for visual, data, and power transfer. On the other hand, the laptop’s wireless connection is facilitated by its unique Killer Wi-Fi AX1675 adapter and new-age Bluetooth v5.2 adapter.
All laptop configurations come with an 87 Whr Alienware battery that ensures longer uptime. Supported ports and slots include a single port for each USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C (Up to 40Gbs transfer rate), Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1-out, a microSD card slot at the back, and a 3.5 mm combo audio jack.
