As far as light yet powerful laptops go, very few stand out, like the HP Pavilion Aero 13z-be100. It’s an affordable laptop in the $500 – $600 range and comes with decent specs. The overall design is nice and streamlined. The finish comes in a few color options: Pale Rose Gold, Warm Gold, Natural Silver, and Ceramic White.

The Aero 13z has an AMD-based configuration. It has an AMD Ryzen 5 (5625U) 6-core processor and AMD Radeon Graphics (8GB onboard). In addition, there is AMD integrated SoC chipset.

View everything in brilliant colors and clear visuals on the WUXGA (1920 x 1200) anti-glare, micro-edge display (400 nits). In addition, the screen-to-body ratio is 89.65%, giving you more of a view. Another good design feature is the keyboard. It runs from edge to edge and offers a smooth typing experience. Also, the touchpad is proportioned nicely underneath the keyboard.

This Pavilion Aero laptop will boot up almost instantly, and all your favorite programs and apps will load and run fast without lag.

Some alternative options are available for the configuration are the processor, graphics, and memory. First, go up to an AMD Ryzen 7 with 8-cores / 16 threads, up to 4.5-GHz speed. With the Ryzen 7 processor, the Radeon Graphics are also upgraded to 16GB (onboard for memory).

A fingerprint reader is located to the right of the trackpad and beneath the arrow keys to ensure security. There is Firmware TPM (Trusted module Platform Module) support as well. Also built-in to the device is an HP Wide Vision 720p HD cam featuring temporal noise reduction technology and integrated dual array digital mics.

As with most laptops, this model has a good selection of I/O ports for connecting other devices and accessories. There is a 1 SuperSpeed USB Type-C port (USB Power Delivery / DisplayPort), 2 x SuperSpeed USB Type-A ports, HDMI 2.1, headphone and microphone combo jack, and 1 AC smart pin.

Lastly, for the battery, the HP Pavilion Aero 13z-be100 comes with a 3-cell 43 Wh-Lion polymer. It charges up very quickly, thanks to HP’s Fast Charge technology (It gets up to 50% in just 30 minutes).
