Lenovo Legion Slim 7i Gen 7 – Lightweight Gaming Laptop with Unique Design and Features

One issue many people have with gaming laptops, if anything, is that they aren’t light. While much more portable than a gaming desktop, they can still be relatively big and bulky and won’t fit as easily into a laptop case. Luckily, things seem to be changing. The new Lenovo Legion Slim 7i Gen 7 is slim, measuring 0.67-in x 14.08-in x 10.24 (H x W x D), and light with a starting weight of 4.79-lbs.

While 4.79-lbs is a bit heavier than the typical ultrathin laptop, it’s undoubtedly light for gaming laptop standards. The 16-inch display has a 2560 x 1600 resolution, LED backlight, and low blue light technology. It has a narrow bezel and is capable of 165-Hz and 500 nits. A 1080P FHD webcam with an E-camera shutter and dual microphone comes with the display.

With its anodized aluminum chassis, the Slim 7i has a very attractive design. It’s cut carefully with a metal trim, complementing nicely with its “per key” RGB backlit keyboard. On the left side of the chassis, there is a USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port and a USB-C 3.2 Generation 2 port, both of which have DisplayPort 1.4 technology and 135-W power delivery.

One awe-inspiring aspect of the Lenovo Legion Slim 7i Gen 7 design is that it has ports on its rear. There are 3 x USB-A Generation 2 (1 x always on) ports and an HDMI 2.1. The webcam E-shutter switch, SD card reader, and headphone/microphone combo are on the right side.

Lenovo Legion Slim 7i Gen 7 Processor and Memory

What kind of processor can a lightweight gaming laptop like this come with? It’s powered by a 12th Generation 14-core / 20 threads Intel Core i7 processor (12700H) with 3.50-GHz (E-cores) to 4.70-GHz (P-cores). For graphics, it depends on the specific model/configuration. Users can expect an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU with 4GB GDDR6 or GeForce RTX 3060 GPU with 6GB GDDR6.

There is a storage capacity of 512GB with the M.2 2280 PCIe Generation 4 TLC Solid State Drive. The 16GB of memory, 8GB SODIMM, and 8GB Soldered at DDR5-4800 MHz also contribute to the Lenovo Legion Slim 7i Gen 7’s speed and overall performance.

Thanks to Rapid Charge Pro technology, it only takes 30 minutes to charge the 71-WHr battery up to 50% capacity. The AC adapter has a 170-W or 230-W power supply, depending on the configuration.

Additional features include 2 x 2W Harman speakers with Nahimic audio, Intel WiFi 6E (2×2) 802.11 AX wireless technology, and Bluetooth 5.2.

The Lenovo Legion Slim 7i Gen 7 is pretty impressive as an innovative, “experimental,” lightweight gaming laptop. It’s a good choice, and Lenovo promo codes will help make it more affordable.
