HP OMEN 45L GT22-0450t

HP OMEN 45L GT22-0450t – A Powerful Gaming Desktop Review – Is it Worth Having?

If you want the biggest, baddest gaming rig possible, this Omen, offered through HP’s store, is about as big and powerful as they get. Hopefully, you’ll have enough room for it. The “45L” in its name should give you an idea of how big it is. The HP OMEN 45L GT22-0450t weighs 49.82-lb and measures 8.03 x 18.5 x 21.85-inches (W x D x H).

Of course, a machine this big will come with enough room for a quality cooling system. A Cyro Chamber design element allows the CPU “cooler” to draw outside air instead of the warmer air inside the case, as most other towers do. This helps keep the overall temperature low and the air quality fresh. Also, the case interior contains a radiator and two fans. You can install a radiator of up to 360-mm in most 45L GT22 models.

This Omen PC is intended for high-end gamers and can pretty much handle everything. Even with a cheaper configuration, you’ll still get an Intel Core i7 (12700k), 12-cores / 20-threads processor with Liquid Cooler technology and 3.6-GHz (base) – 5.0-GHz (turbo) speed. In addition, there is support for up to an Intel Core i9, 16-cores / 24-threads processor.

HP OMEN 45L GT22-0450t Graphics and Memory

How much gaming do you think you’d be able to get done with your HP OMEN 45L GT22-0450t with the most powerful NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics performance available today? At the bare minimum, the desktop can be configured with an RTX 3060 graphics card with 12GB of GDDR6 dedicated graphics memory, with LHR support and HDMI and DP display connectors. If that’s not enough, the PC can handle up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 dedicated graphics card (24GB) or RTX 3080 Ti (12GB GDDR6X).

Performance is enhanced even more with the HyperX memory (DDR4-3733 MHz XMP RGB / “HeatSink RAM), which can be maxed out up to 4 x 16GB for a total of 64GB. The cheapest configuration of the HP OMEN 45L GT22-0450t comes with 2 x 8GB (16GB).

There are several storage configurations to choose from. The primary storage is a WD Black PCIe NVMe TLC M.2 Solid State Drive, beginning with a 512GB capacity, going up to 2TB 4×4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. In addition, there are options for 1TB – 2TB 7200-RPM SATA HDD for secondary storage.

Included with the HP OMEN 45L GT22-0450t desktop package is a Plus Gold Certified Power supply (front bezel – shadow black glass / 800-W / 80 Plus). And an HP 310 wired keyboard/mouse combo. Also, there are several expansion slots and 4-DIMM memory slots.
