HP – For All Your Office Needs

HP’s Newly Revealed Laptops for Remote Working

New technology comes out every year. For smartphones, desktops, and laptops, the event to tune in is the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES). CES 2021 took place in Las Vegas, Nevada, from January 11 to 14. Among the many presenters is HP, whose products will cater to out-of-the-office professionals. After all, research shows that there will be twice as many permanent remote workers this year.

Here are the laptops we’re expecting to see in the coming months:

HP ENVY 14

The ENVY laptops are HP’s “class” line, with their high-finish designs and unique specifications. This year, ENVY is a powerful laptop that can meet multiple uses. Modern PCB manufacturers use stackup impedance calculators to determine the sheet capacitance between the power planes. This method provides enough power paths to deliver power to every component with little to no droop. The ENVY 14 makes use of this PCB aspect skilfully with its “HP Dynamic Power” feature. This allows users to divide and allocate power between the CPU and GPU, depending on what they use the laptop for.

For example, programmers might put more power in their CPU to run more applications simultaneously. Meanwhile, graphic designers might benefit more from a supercharged GPU.

HP Elite Folio

If you’ve heard about the Spectre Folio, then the Elite Folio might look familiar. The Spectre Folio is a convertible luxury laptop with a leather outer shell over a metal frame. The Elite Folio is a little less luxurious but is more affordable. Like the Spectre Folio, the Elite Folio is also a 2-in-1 device but without the leather. Users can use it as an ordinary laptop and as a tablet when they push the screen flat on the table.

The Elite Folio also has an AES or active electrostatic pen to support the tablet mode further. HP makes AES pens out of bonded glass, so their sensors have higher accuracy. The pen comes for note-taking purposes. It’ll even open a note app automatically when it’s pulled out of its compartment.

HP Elite Dragonfly

The Elite Dragonfly line has the world’s lightest compact convertible laptops. Built for on-the-go professionals, every model starts under 1kg and a high-capacity 4-cell 56.2Wh battery. They can last up to 16 hours. This year, HP announced two new additions: the Elite Dragonfly G2 and the HP Elite Dragonfly Max.

G2 (2021) is a revamp of a similar model from last year. Eighty percent of its mechanical parts are made out of recycled materials, making it the perfect option for the eco-conscious. The G2 (2021) will have the same features but with better specs and a cleaner design.

Max caters more to people that attend many conference calls. It has a 5px webcam with an infrared sensor and four wide-range microphones for the best video and audio quality possible.

No prices are released for any of these models yet, but we should get them near their release dates. The Elite Dragonfly laptops should arrive in February. The Elite Folio and ENVY 14 might drop in the second half of the year. Regardless, remote workers have a lot to look forward to.
